Three-day Rafting at the Lower Shuya River

During the three-day tour at the Shuya you will discover rapids, river roll-overs and swifts as well as spectacular lake views, sand beaches and wonderful camp spots. You will build a real rafting team ready for adventures and camp lifestyle. Our instructors will surprise you with Karelian camp cuisine, and the river will astonish you with its scenery and power of the flow.

The route:
Lake Shotozero – the Shuya river – the Bridge Rapid (Class I) – Lake Vagatozero – the Kindasovskiye Shiveri Rapid (Class I) – the River Suuri mouth – the Ploschadka Rapid (Class I-II) –the Kutizhminsky Rapid (Class I-II) – the Pitkakoski Rapid (Class I-II) - the Grand Tolly Rapid (Class I-III) – the Small Tolly Rapid (Class I-II) – the Sojvazhporog Rapid (Class I) - Karjala Park

Day 1

Meeting at Petrozavodsk railway station
Breakfast
Transfer to the start of the tour
Briefing on safety and general information on the tour
Packing and equipping
Rafting from Lake Shotozero to the Suuri River mouth (20 km)
Setting up the camp
Dinner and overnight stop at the camp

Day 2

Breakfast
Rafting: The Suuri River Mouth – Kindasovo village – the Ploschadka Rapid (Class I-II) – the Kutizhmsky Rapid (Class I-II) – the Pitkakoski Rapid (Class I-II) (20 km)
Visiting the unique mitten monument and the museum of the Saami religious monuments in Kindasovo village (optional)
Lunch
Setting up the camp
Dinner and overnight stay at the camp

Day 3

Rafting: the Grand Tolly Rapid (Class I-III) – the Small Tolly Rapid (Class I-II) – the Sojvazhporog Rapid (Class I) – Karjala Park
Snacks
Returning the equipment
Dinner at Karjala Park
Transfer to the railway station of Petrozavodsk (transfer to airport is organised on request, charged 1500 rub per group)
